Better Things to Come in 2021
In times like these, we need things to look forward to more than ever. Why just hope for better things in the New Year? Instead, let’s make them happen!
We decided months ago that while 2020 is a year full of unpredictability, we must do our best to control what we can control. This has inspired deep reflection, reevaluating our processes, and determining ways we can better serve our customers and build a more sustainable brand for the future.
Our energies have not gone unrewarded. We’re still celebrating our recent Veda Crossbody launch. In addition, we have tons of exciting new developments in the works, from developing our custom hardware to working toward more sustainable practices.

We didn’t let a pandemic get in between you and ectu’s latest offering – the Veda Crossbody bag! As always, only the highest quality materials are incorporated into our product line, and the Veda is certainly no exception.
Construction is Everything
We pride ourselves on offering bags craftily designed and skillfully stitched using the best of leather and construction practices. While we were proud of what we accomplished so far, we decided to push the envelope and see if we can optimize our construction methods. As construction and design are very much specific to the bag and intended use, we’ve perfected our methods and the materials we use. The pandemic has given us more time to test our winning combos to come up with the… well, winningest combos ever! As always, our bags are designed to last a lifetime (or two, or three) – hence the heirloom-quality of our entire product line.
Longer-lasting Hardware
On the hardware front, we’ve developed a new custom lock made entirely from stainless steel. Of all hardware material types, stainless steel is considered the crème de la crème. Not only is stainless steel extremely strong, but it also doesn’t rust, corrode, or fade in color over time. In addition, stainless steel is astoundingly dependable and perfect for long-term use, so why use anything of lesser quality on our beautifully crafted products?
Factory is Exclusive to Italy
Moving forward, our entire line will be made in Italy. Our Italian craftsmen focus on small batch production, elevating our products with centuries-old knowledge and skill. We’ve been in the business for years and have developed relationships with the best in the industry. Over the last several years, we’ve strengthened and solidified these partnerships. The pandemic has inspired a deeper appreciation for our partners. We recognize and are grateful for their work ethic and dedication in 2020 to get bags to our clients even as Italy went through two lockdowns.
Moving Toward More Sustainable Practices
As of December 31st, 2020, we’ve made tremendous strides in moving toward more sustainable practices such as working with tanneries that are LWG certified and using packing materials that are made using 100% recycled materials. In 2021, we will continue to educate ourselves in sustainable practices and commit to creating pieces that are not harmful to the environment while not compromising style or function. We’ve pledged that by end of 2022, 100% of our materials will come from vendors who are certified for their sustainability practices.
We’ve Put Everything into Our Product Line
2020 has been a year of going “all in” for everything we do. Strengthening our commitments to children, husbands, relatives, and friends – as well as our personal and professional commitments to ourselves and one another. Our hearts, souls, and dreams for the future culminate in our ectu product line.
